Introducing Diners & Departures: Every Airport Has a Story

For as long as I can remember, I've believed that the journey is just as important as the destination.

As a pilot, I've discovered something that generations of aviators have known for decades: some of the best destinations aren't found in travel guides. They're tucked away at small airports across America, where family-owned cafés, historic airfields, and welcoming communities create experiences you simply can't find anywhere else.

Those places deserve to have their stories told.

That's why I'm excited to introduce Diners & Departures, a new documentary series from Borden Ln. Films.

Every episode begins the same way—with a flight plan, a destination, and a story waiting to be discovered.

Along the way, we'll explore the history of America's airports, the remarkable people who keep them alive, the restaurants that have become gathering places for pilots and travelers, and the communities that make every stop unique. Whether it's a legendary $100 hamburger destination, a World War II airfield, a family-owned airport diner, or an aviation museum preserving our nation's heritage, each episode is built around a simple belief:

Every airport has a story.

But this series is about more than airplanes and great food.

For me, Diners & Departures is also a personal mission.

After a career in public service, I've committed to pursuing a lifelong dream of flying professionally for the airlines. That journey requires experience, discipline, and a lot of time in the cockpit. Every cross-country flight adds another entry to my logbook and brings me one step closer to earning the flight time needed to reach that goal.

Rather than simply building hours, I wanted every flight to have a purpose.

Instead of flying from one airport to another and heading home, I decided to use those flights to document the people, places, and stories that make general aviation one of America's greatest communities. In many ways, this series is as much about preserving aviation history as it is about pursuing a dream.

You'll see breathtaking landscapes, unforgettable airports, incredible meals, and inspiring people. You'll also see the realities of flight planning, changing weather, lessons learned, and the steady progress of one pilot working toward the next chapter of his aviation journey.

Whether you're a pilot, an aviation enthusiast, a history buff, or someone who simply enjoys discovering remarkable places, I hope you'll come along for the ride.

If you own an airport restaurant, manage an airport, represent an aviation museum, or have a story that deserves to be shared, I'd love to hear from you. Some of the best adventures begin with a simple conversation.

This is only the beginning.

The first destination is waiting.

The cameras are rolling.

The logbook is open.

Welcome to Diners & Departures.

One airport. One story. One flight at a time.
